Registered Architect
There are not many architects registered on this site.
Architects who already have a long track record, have won awards, and are recognized for their approach to space.
We have selected architects who are expected to have a bright future to join our team.
Kunimi Tsubaki

Tsubaki Architectural Design Laboratory is committed to creating spaces that are friendly to people and the earth.
We propose healthy, safe, and comfortable living surrounded by natural materials in harmony with Japan's seasonal climate. We aim to design buildings that grow and develop warmth and depth together with their inhabitants.
Balance and Comfort
When we think of a building, we first imagine this before proceeding with the design.
Balance means structural balance, cost balance, aesthetic balance, and balance among the three parties of client, design, and construction.
If any one of these is out of balance, the existence of the building will not be pleasant.
No matter how much the architect likes the building, it is meaningless if the owner, the resident and user, is not satisfied.
A building created through the cooperation and symbiosis of the client, architect, and builder is a space that will exist for a long time, and will be comfortable and relaxing.
A building is neither a work of art to be appreciated nor a disposable industrial product.
It is a dwelling place where people live daily in harmony with the natural environment.
I would like to be an architect who seeks "balance" and "comfort" by using keywords such as "townscape," "environment," "nature," "materials," "time," "coexistence," and "dialogue," and continue to create buildings that satisfy my clients.

Tearoom in an office building
Proposal for a teahouse meeting space attached to the office of a large global corporation located in Tokyo.
This is a proposal for a new office space divided into a tearoom space and a meeting space.
We created a full-fledged tearoom space that is hard to believe it is on a single floor in a high-rise building.
With the Corona disaster changing the mindset of office workers, we positioned this space as a place to expand business globally with the spirit of Zen.

Sawara Kura BAR
y revitalizing old private houses and warehouses, we connect the feelings of the land and the buildings to the future.
Sawara is a water village in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture. An old rice warehouse built along the Ono River, which is crowded with tourists, was converted into a restaurant and bar.The first floor of the warehouse, long disused, has a bar counter and semi-private seating, while the second floor can be used as a spacious dining room.
The space decorated with antique furniture and accessories owned by the owner of the warehouse has created a sense of serenity as if it had been there for a long time.
The only existing trolley in Sawara, which was used to transport rice and other goods, was used as it is, allowing visitors to feel the history of the building from the time when it was a rice warehouse.
By revitalizing old private houses and warehouses, we hope to bring to life the feelings of the land and buildings for the future with the power of modern design.

Tempura "Arakawa"
The long-established tempura restaurant "Arakawa," which has been operating in Higashi Jujo, Kita-ku for 45 years, has relocated to Akabane and newly opened.
The restaurant was created by craftsmen who have always built tea rooms, each of whom has demonstrated their mastery of their craft.
The materials used are solid Japanese cedar columns and solid oak countertops, and the traditional "momiji" walls are painted. The ceiling has an elliptical raised ceiling with gold-plated Edo karakami, and lattice rafters are placed between the counter and the Japanese-style room to create the image of an eaves roof.At the entrance, a lattice door and washi (stone wash basin) are placed to lead visitors into the restaurant, and the table seating is partitioned by movable fittings depending on the number of customers.
Considering the fact that many people come and go in the store, we designed a stylish, easy-to-use, and durable structure. Some of the materials (floor posts, garden stones, and signboards) from the previous restaurant were also reused, and a new long-established restaurant, Tempura Arakawa, has been completed, taking over the 45-year history since its establishment.

Kimono Misuzu
Kimono Misuzu is a kimono store that sells not only kimonos but also Japanese culture.
The kimono industry is in a severe condition as the number of kimono wearers is decreasing. Is there any way to do this without changing the type of business? We therefore built a full-fledged tea ceremony room inside the store and established a new tea ceremony salon to increase opportunities to wear kimonos.
A large solid table is placed at the entrance of the store for reception and meetings, and in the middle is a seminar space with tatami mats that can be used as audience seating.

Apartment Tea Room O Residence
I want an eight-mat hall for practice even if it is small.
This tea ceremony room was completed under the limited space and budget of an apartment building.
The ceiling is made of beams, the eight-mat hall extends to the entrance hall, there is no water supply or drainage, the wall floor is made of PS wall, there is storage under the floor, chests of drawers are stored, and the veranda is used to secure a conductor line for tea ceremony.
The tea ceremony room is a small room, but it is full of thought.
